The Graaff-Reinet SPCA is committed to animal rescue, animal welfare and preventing animal cruelty. And we do so with five basic principles(freedoms) in mind:

• Freedom from thirst, hunger and malnutrition
• Freedom from discomfort
• Freedom from pain, injury or disease
• Freedom to express normal behaviour
• Freedom from fear and distress

Graaff-Reinet SPCA serves a large area which includes several rural communities. There is a high level of poverty and unemployment, which creates a huge demand for our services.

We don’t turn any animal away. No matter what the breed, condition,age or reason for animals being brought to the SPCA, we’re here for them, day and night. And we’re on call 24/7/365 to respond to rescues and emergencies involving animals.

The SPCA does NOT receive government or municipal funding.
