Welcome to Callie's Place!
A 501(c)(3) animal welfare organization based in Tuscaloosa, Alabama

The mission of Callie’s Place is to improve the lives of people and all pets. Through community outreach and affordable spay/neuter programs, we plan to educate people on the importance of proper treatment of all living things. Following state law, we will establish humane shelters and, ultimately, be working to place pets in loving homes. The Black belt area will be our initial focus, but we plan to extend far beyond the boundaries of Alabama. Our commitment is to be broad enough in our missions to have impact and yet focused enough to be effective.

Callie’s Place is a very active animal rescue at present. We currently house many dogs and cats that are up for adoption as well we provide lifelong sanctuary for many others who for various reasons are not available for adoption. We speak at churches, schools, civic clubs and other events on the benefits and necessity of spay and neuter. We are a no-kill rescue, which means once an animal makes it to us it is safe.


Goals:
1. To improve the lives of pets and people in West Alabama with an emphasis on our communities by giving unnurtured, unloved animals a second, real chance.
2. Teaching children and adults about the proper care of pets and domestic animals
3. And teaching about the benefits of spay and neuter thru
a. Mobile spay neuter clinic
b. Partnerships with local vet offices and universities
4. Establishment of a Callie’s Place Shelter
