The mission of the APS of Durham is to educate the public about the humane care, treatment and well-being of all animals, to help stop pet overpopulation through the promotion of spay/neuter programs, and to find adoptive homes for the animals in our care.

APS of Durham is an open admission shelter, and cares for more than 5,000 animals each year. The adoption package at APS is all-inclusive - your new pet will come home with a basic medical exam, spay/neuter (dogs, cats and rabbits), vaccines, a microchip (dogs and cats) and lots of love from our staff and volunteers.
