We sell reasonably priced second hand books, magazines, CD's, vinyls, DVD's, VCR's & cassettes. Every cent goes to the SPCA. Sales every Sat/Wed am.

The second hand book room at the Pietermaritzburg branch of the SPCA is a wonderful source of all kind of books. It is run by a small group of dedicated volunteers. We rely on donations from the public to stock the bookroom, and we are most grateful to them for their generosity. Anyone who is emigrating, downsizing, or having a spring clean is most welcome to drop off unwanted books and magazines at the office. We have a vast range of books from some of the latest best sellers in good condition to very very old books. Our range includes popular authors, crime, non-fiction of all kinds including sport, history, DIY, hobbies, animals, inspirational, poetry, classics, travel, childrens books, religious books, magazines etc etc etc. We also sell vinyls, cds, dvds, cassettes in all kinds of music genres. If you are looking for a favourite book that is out of print, we will try and find it for you. Because the shop is manned by volunteers every single cent of the proceeds go to the SPCA. Our prices are extremely reasonable – we make reading affordable again! We hold sales every Saturday morning from 8.00am to midday, and every Wednesday morning from 9.00am to midday. Our volunteers are also in the bookroom on Monday and Thursday sorting books and everyone is welcome to drop in and browse during these times.
