The Mama Magoo Story:Mama magoo is a five pound yorkie/chihuahua mix, that was cruelly dumped in a business complex in the City of Chino on a rainy October day. She was sitting in the rain for about 2 hours when I drove by an noticed this little soaking thing. I asked the security gaurd and he said that someone drove up put this little dog down, he let them know that they could not do that, but they said she was sick and drove off. When I picked her up, it was evident that she was a mama, because she still had milk. She could not put her hind legs down, she would only walk on her two front legs. I took her home and then to my vets office. X-rays revealed that she had a broken pelvic and back hind leg. He suggested that we put her to sleep. She was full of life, she perked up whenever I walked into the room. My vet suggested I take her to Veterinary Surgical Specialists in Tustin. There I met the most amazing Dr. Sebestyen and his wonderful staff. They treated Mama Magoo like royalty. I mentioned that this had just broken my heart and that I was planning on going to the Newspaper here in Chino Hills. They examined Mama Magoo and told me that the surgery was going to be about 2,800.00. I told them to schedule it and somehow I would raise the money. I was on my way back to Chino Hills, when I received a phone call it was the VSS office. They asked me if I could please go back, they were going to perform surgery on Mama Magoo immediately. Mr. Mel Ewald of the Chino Hills Champion did a great story on Mama Magoo and VSS. Three days later this brave little girl was in surgery again for her broken hind leg. I never received a bill for all these surgeries. All donations will be forwarded to the VSS, this group of professionals really took their oaths to heart when they said they would save animal lives. Today Mama Magoo is love and spoiled, she runs and jumps and has recuperated 100%.
