The Milo Foundation Sanctuary

The Milo Sanctuary in Willits, CA, cares for close to 200 animals. Our residents are rescued from high-kill shelters and waiting for their forever homes.

The mission of the Milo Foundation is to rescue adoptable at-risk animals, match them to homes best suited to provide lifetime care, rehabilitate those who need it, offer sanctuary to those who are not placed, and educate the public about responsible pet guardianship, including spay/neuter.

The 283 Acre Milo Sanctuary in Willits was founded by Director Lynne Tingle in 1994. Since then Milo has also opened an adoption center in the bay area, now located in Point Richmond. In 23 years the non-profit has saved 28,000 animals from being euthanized in CA shelters! Appointments to visit the Sanctuary need to be set in advance with Sanctuary Manager Melissa Night as we have a small yet dedicated staff and want to ensure that we can devote full attention to your visit! The Sanctuary is home to many animals who are looking for country homes as well as a temporary stop for some in need of rescue who would also thrive in more urban/bustling environments. The Milo Sanctuary is always in need of volunteers, foster homes, donors and of course loving families looking to adopt! Please contact us if you would like to help!
