The mission of Forgotten Felines is to provide veterinary care and food to homeless and abandoned cats in the Middle Keys.

We practice the humane and effective method of TNR: trap, spay/neuter and return. If return is not possible, we seek safe homes locally or in a sanctuary in Georgia so no cat is endangered.

Forgotten Felines also strives to educate the public on the importance of proper cat care and assists low-income Middle Keys residents with proper cat care so eventually no cat will be homeless or abandoned.

During 2009, our veterinarian performed 422 spays and neuters on free roaming cats.

One successful trapping trip yielded approximately 50 cats when Forgotten Felines dispatched 25 trappers into a low income housing project.

As of 2010, our volunteers have been feeding 33 cat colonies in the Middle Keys and since we monitor the size of the colonies on a daily basis, we have determined that Marathon is the location with the highest increase in cat population.

We spay/neuter as many feral cats as our finances allow on a regular basis and there is never a time when we have a surplus of money and no cats to fix.

Forgotten Felines volunteers feed over 500 homeless and abandoned cats everyday.
