We will not be hosting an adoption event today.
To hold you over until next Saturday, here’s a quick update on Dansby…she had 8 perfect puppies on Thanksgiving!
We hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
11/25/2021
This Thanksgiving, we have much to be thankful for:
•Foster homes & volunteers who selflessly dedicate their time and homes.
•Adopters who give our animals a second chance.
•Rescue & shelter partners who tirelessly work to network and transport animals from the at-risk situations we save them from.
•Veterinary partners who compassionately assist us with expensive and heartbreaking medical cases.
•Donors and supporters who generously give to support the safety and successful placement of over 1,000 animals each year.
May your day be full of food, family, friends, and many wagging tails. Happy Thanksgiving!

On this fine Thursday, we felt it fitting to feature Winnie and Piglet.
This bonded pair of female guinea pigs have been with us for 56 days, which is approximately 56 days too many. We have encountered two reasons as to why they have been with us longer than expected: 1. Understandably so, adoption events aren’t their scene. 2. There are approximately 350+ adoptable guinea pigs within a 100 mile proximity. So here we are, shamelessly begging to find them homes.
These two socialites are looking for a gregarious family. Their likes include fresh veggies, guinea pig exercise balls, and children. Because guinea pigs are chatty pets, Winnie and Piglet would also like a home that likes to take part in the daily gossip. As if this isn’t enough, Winnie and Piglet would like to point out that they are limited-shedders, great for small living spaces, and can still be used as an excuse to get out of weekend plans.
If you’re interested in adding the pair into your home, please submit an application at www.bounceanimalrescue.org.

Good evening friends - say hello to Gus!
Gus is an 11 month old, 53lb, pit bull terrier/three-toed sloth mix. He enjoys lounging, walks that don’t exceed 15 minutes, sunbathing, and napping. Sprinkle in a few snacks, and you got yourself one happy camper.
Where Gus lacks in energy, he makes up in heart. This dog knows no enemies. His friend list includes other dogs, children, felines, and your backyard squirrel. In fact, he would really enjoy a full household with frequent visitors. (He asked to be the 7th pal in Friends, so we have some big shoes to fill.)
If you’re looking for a laid back, check for a heart beat type of dog, Gus is for you. To fill out an adoption application, please visit www.bounceanimalrescue.org. (Hurry! A dog of his caliber is not expected to last long. This will be the only time speed matters to Gus.)

Happy Friday friends! Can you help us find this hunk a home?
Yogi is a 2 year old, 73lb, pit bull/staffordshire terrier mix. He has been with us 6 months, which officially makes him our longest stay. Despite living it up in his marvelous foster home, it’s time we find him permanent placement, as he is a complete delight. In fact, he was also a staff favorite at the Texas shelter we pulled him from. Typically, they’re only able to keep dogs off the euthanasia list for a few short weeks, but because he was so loved, they managed to keep him safe for over 6 months. There is no one he can’t win over with his infectious smile.
Yogi is dog and people friendly. He is a bull in a china shop and he doesn’t fully recognize his size and strength. While he is children friendly, we would recommend a home with offspring over the age of 8, as he unintentionally knocks over younger children unless they’re in the 98th percentile. Unfortunately, he chases cats as though he’s in Squid Game, so a litter box free home is strongly advised.
Yogi would do best in a home that values dopey and misunderstood bully breeds. He does well on a leash with walking aids, loves morning runs, and will do anything for chicken. Because he loves to play for hours in the backyard with other lively dogs, we don’t think he would do well in a home with senior dogs or dogs that don’t want to engage in shenanigans. And finally, if we’re being completely transparent, we need to disclose that he can clear a room with gaseous molecules that waft from his rear end following meals. Given he’s had a pretty crappy life before us, we think he deserves a pass for this.
If you would like to adopt this amazing boy, please visit www.bounceanimalrescue.org.

Good evening and happy Friday-eve. Tonight’s mission is finding Hazel a home.
Hazel is a 6 month old, 35lb, pug/husky mix. While we understand that she does not look like a pug or a husky, we did not make this up. (We are also fully aware that those two breeds are highly desirable and typically blow up the adoption listing algorithm, but alas, if we were here to pull the wool over your eyes, she would be labeled as a poodle or golden retriever mix.)
Hazel came to us from a shelter in Texas (what’s new?). Ironically, her two siblings entered our care in June, and it was said that Hazel was being kept by a local family. Fast forward three months, and Hazel is now proudly stamped with the Bounce name.
Hazel is adventurous and spirited - think Patagonia ads. She loves to play, hike, camp, and recycle. She is fantastic with other dogs and would really benefit from the companionship of another canine. Like your typical 6 month old dog, she is still navigating the world of being half-child and half-adult. She is quickly picking up kennel and potty training, but might accidentally jump up on new house guests and demand presents. Hazel walks well on a leash, sleeps through the night, and is current on all TikTok trends.
Interested adopters can apply at www.bounceanimalrescue.org. Please spread the word, share, repost, retweet, and upvote.

When in the animal welfare business, you come across various dog names that are very popular: Bella, Charlie, Lucy, Winston, Lily, etc. While they are perfectly superb names, they make our rescue heads spin as we try to keep Bella1, Bella2, and Bella3 straight. In our anguish to think outside the box of popular names, we landed on classic baseball players. (Mind you, the writer of this post literally knows nothing about baseball other than stadium pretzels cannot be beat.)
This all-star team and their mom came to us from a shelter in Texas. Mimi (mom) weighs in at a whopping 25lbs and we don’t expect the puppies to get much larger. Like typical herding breeds, they are smart enough to do your taxes, while also simultaneously trying to keep your children in linear height order. They are looking for homes that active, social, and like to brush dog fur. Because they will be on the smaller side, apartment dwellers are encouraged to apply, so long as a good daily romp can be provided.
This litter will be available for viewing and adoption at our Saturday adoption event (10am-1pm @ Pet Supplies Plus - Front Range Village, 2912 Council Tree Ave #100, Fort Collins, 80525). (Mimi will be adoption-ready next week, so check back then.) To apply for adoption, please visit our website at www.bounceanimalrescue.org.

This, dear friends, is Griffin. Griffin is a 5 year old, 11lb, shih tzu. Before you start clubbing each other over the heads for primary adoption rights, Griffin is in need of your help.
You see, Bounce takes our vetting standards very seriously. If an animal needs bloodwork, they get it. If they need a mass removed and sent off to cytology, it’s done. Because Griffin is a small breed, he needed a dental with approximately 15 extractions. No problem, handled. What was not expected was an abnormal diagnosis of his eyelashes. Yes, you read that correctly.
Upon an ophthalmology consultation, Griffin was diagnosed with distichia and ectopic cilia in both eyes. (Eyelashes that develop in abnormal locations.) Because these eyelashes were growing in unexpected areas, they were rubbing Griffin’s eyes causing pain, irritation, and corneal ulcers. Due to the wonders of modern medicine, Griffin is able to undergo a surgery to correct this ailment called cryosurgery. Cryosurgery is the application of extreme cold to destroy abnormal tissues. Pretty cool, right?
You know what’s not cool? The $800-1,000 sticker price. And this is where we shamelessly beg and plead for a few of your spare dollars. We accept all increments of payment, especially the $1,000 type.
