CPSR is a 501(c)(3) Charity. Our efforts are focused on saving the lives of pit bull terriers, staffordshire terriers and other so called "bully" breeds.

Chicago Pit Stop Rescue's mission is to save the most urgent dogs and provide them with a loving "pit stop" - which includes full vetting and a spot in a foster home - while on their way to their forever home. While we aim to save as many dogs as possible, our mission is to save as many dogs as we can while providing them with top notch vetting, treatment and training as we recognize those to be key elements in the dog finding a forever home.

Learning from previous experiences, Chicago Pit Stop Rescue strives to provide individualized rescue and training to each dog pulled. Realizing that no one formula can be applied to every dog, Chicago Pit Stop Rescue works with award winning, certified, trainers and provide our fosters with access to training at no cost to the foster. When you commit to being a foster for Chicago Pit Stop Rescue, you are not only fostering a dog, but you are becoming part of our family, also known as the "Pit Crew" and we will be there to support you every step of the way. This includes being provided whatever you may need - anything from a leash and food to someone in the rescue caring for your foster dog if you suddenly need to go out of town.
