Helping People-Helping Animals

To promote animal welfare in Hancock County through humane education and pet population control by:

-Developing and providing humane education programs that teach kindness to and respect for all living things.
-Helping animals housed in animal care shelters by promoting shelter adoptions and by providing improvements to shelter facilities, trainging for shelter staff and volunteers.
-Promoting shelter and community based pet sterilization programs.

The PAWS Center, our retail and adoption facility, is open Thursdays from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Sundays from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. We are also open by appointment. Our cats are available for adoption during the stated hours. If you wish to see a specific dog, please email pawshancock@aol.com in advance. All dogs do not attend every adoption event because they are in foster homes and we must arrange for their transportation to the PAWS Center for an adoption event.
