Fairfield Bay Animal Control Shelter

Shelter hours are 9:30-12 and 12:30-3 Monday thru Friday and 7:30-11:30 on Saturday, if you visit the shelter during business hours and no one is in the office our officers may be out on a call. only ONE officer is on duty 4 out of 7 days.

Our mission is to pick up and house cats and dogs until they can find their forever homes or a rescue to assist them in finding their homes.

We welcome any 501c3 rescues. You can find our pull information in our notes sections.

Fairfield Bay Animal Shelter is a small City Shelter run by a very caring staff. As a low kill shelter we try our best to place animals in homes or rescues thereby lowering our ratio of euthanizations.

There are 2 animal control officers at the Fairfield Bay Animal Shelter. While business hours are given our officers must respond to calls that are dispatched by the police department. Anytime they are out there is a sign on our door! The shelter is closed to the public on the weekend during winter. We open for owner reclaims.

Fairfield Bay Shelter works with many NORTHERN 501c3 rescues. In doing this it minimizes the amount of euthanizations done. Each rescue is required to PAY a pull fee that covers the vetting of the animal, they must also pay for and arrange transport. Animals are held the required 72 hours of quarantine, once that time is up the animal is wormed, vaccinated and given flea control and put on the adoption room floor where they are available to the public and rescue groups. Public is always first come first serve on adoptions.
