OUR MISSION!
Providing for Paws mission is to rescue neglected, abused and sick animals, or animals that have been displaced from their home. We frequently work in communities that have a high rate of stray animals such as Detroit. We are commonly in these areas and working to educate owners with animals in bad situations, where we often find strays that come to us very neglected or abused.

Providing for Paws has several people asking if they can surrender their family pet(s) to us every day. We first ask to see if we can help the families keep their pets in the home by offering our services. When out on the road or when we are checking on an animal that might be in jeopardy, we always try to educate the owner(s) because we feel education is the key to reducing the number of animals that end up in rescues and shelters.

If we can provide services to help keep the animal in that home while supporting and educating the owner on proper pet care, this will benefit both the animal and rescue organizations. If we feel the animal is being neglected by their owner after we try to educate them, we will ask the owner to surrender that animal to us or another rescue organization, for the greater good of the animal. Unfortunately, the need for rescue and shelter placement is much greater than the availability and typically outweighs the help we have to offer through rescue.

Our goal is to someday have no more abused, neglected or displaced animals.

Our financial resources will be obtained through:

- Fundraising Events & Programs
- Individual Contributions
- Corporate & Foundation Support
- Grants
- Bequests

Providing for Paws is a 501(c)(3) non profit organization that helps rescue animals in need. Providing for Paws hopes to help curb the amount of homeless animal population by the means of education. We feel education is the key to changing the number of animals entering shelters, rescues, or even abandoned. We do this by educating owners on the importance of spaying and neutering their pets, as well as proper pet care, such as vaccines, preventatives for flea and tick as well as heartworm. Showing families that animals make loving family pets and can do more than guard their back yard. If we are unable to educate, then we persuade the owners to surrender the animal they are not caring for properly.
Although we are unable to help people financially with medical care, we can offer several resources where low income families can receive affordable vet care, as well as very affordable spay and neuter clinics for their animals to be altered and vaccinated. If the family still cannot afford to have their animal altered and vaccinated, in some cases we can find sponsors to get the animal to a spay or neuter clinic and vaccinate. We also offer food and other supplies to help keep the animal in the home and prevent them from going to shelters and rescue groups.
If the family cannot be educated and continues to keep the animal(s) in a neglected state, then it is our duty to try and bring that animal into rescue to give it the care it needs.
