Heading Home K9 Rescue is a foster-based, 501(c)(3), non-profit, no-kill rescue located in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

We at Heading Home K9 Rescue are a group of dedicated, dog-loving volunteers whose mission is to rescue and re-home unwanted, abandoned, stray, and neglected dogs and place them in the best home possible for their needs.

Heading Home K9 Rescue was started in the Spring of 2011 as an offshoot of Homeward Bound Dog Rescue to assist in the rescue and placement of homeless dogs. We have a soft spot for the dogs that others are most likely to pass over: puppy mills, seniors, big black mixed breeds, and animals who have been injured. Our dogs are fostered in individual foster homes, not a facility. Because our dogs live in foster homes rather than a shelter, we know them well and are able to make sure that a perfect match is made between the dog and its new home.
