You might remember these precious faces from earlier this year. The New Kids on the Block were loved by so many of us here at the care farm. Staff and many volunteers helped pitch in with their bottle feedings. Placing animals into their forever homes is a big responsibility, thankfully, adopters like Amy DiCostanzo make it easy, knowing that those animals are going to a wonderful place. Thank you for adopting the New Kids, Amy, they are so lucky to have a forever home with you!

One of our amazing volunteers is Faith. She has been with Sanctuary One for a year and a half. During this time Faith has been dedicated, kind, and hilarious. We are grateful to have volunteers like Faith helping make sure our gardens are bountiful and the animals are well cared for. Moo also was grateful for her skillful playing techniques.

Due to COVID, we are adjusting how we reach our partners. We are grateful to have partners like Hazel Center that will help us reach their residents in a new way. The Amigoats made a special in town visit. They got to enjoy Hazel Center’s backyard and were even fed fresh carrots from their garden. Lucky was so excited that he showed them some of his moves. It was a well deserved break for both humans and goats.

Becoming a Sanctuary One intern is an amazing way to learn more about animals and the Earth. You get to immerse yourself into the care farm by living on site and working with staff, volunteers and the animals. Our most recent intern, Zach, took the semester off school to do just that. We are grateful for the hard work and knowledge that our interns provide. Rhea is also appreciative of all the extra attention!

Sabrina the turkey and her friends, Winifred, Mary & Sarah, the Muscovy ducks, are doing well in their adoptive home. Their adopter says that the girls have settled in, and enjoyed the morning after the storm. The first one to venture out of their stall was Sabrina, the other 3 just looked out the door. Then, the next day, everyone was out and about! Their adopter says that they bring her and her family such joy.

The Ashland Roots and Shoots program came to the care farm for a field trip. The students immediately bonded with the goats and Pippa. Not only are they a science class but they care about service to their community as well. As a part of their field trip they helped clean stalls, giving the animals clean places to sleep.

As a part of our mission we provide a healing place for people. People also provide a healing environment for our animals. Living Opportunities always gives more than they take. We are grateful to have a group that loves and cares for the animals more than words can express. Midas is also grateful for all the snuggles.
