Our Mission is to serve and protect the people and dogs of Marion County in a professional and courteous manner by:
---> Enforcing Marion County dog licensing and control ordinances.
---> Promoting the humane treatment of dogs.
---> Providing shelter and care for lost dogs until they are reunited with their families or adopted.
---> Educating our residents.
---> Respecting the needs of our customers.

At the Marion County Dog Shelter, our goal is to provide the best possible housing and care for lost and impounded dogs. The shelter has:
---> Forty kennels allowing housing for up to 60 dogs
---> Indoor and outdoor areas for each kennel
---> A covered exercise area adjacent to the dog kennels


If you are looking for a new companion, visit our shelter Tuesday thru Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and look through our kennels or you can visit our website to view our current adoptable dogs.
