Texas Independent Rhodesian Ridgeback Rescue
Non-profit org (501C3) dedicated to the rescue, care, and rehabilitation of abandoned, neglected, abused, mistreated, nervous, and misunderstood dogs
Inspired by the tenacity of the Ridgeback breed from which we take our name, and one very special Ridgeback (20) years ago, TIRR Rescue’s mission is the long term care and rehabilitation of large dogs with special needs. Although large breed special needs dogs, Rhodesian Ridgebacks, and Rhodesian Ridgeback mixes are given primary consideration when accepting dogs into our program, no breed is arbitrarily excluded.
Secondly, our mission is to educate the public of the importance of researching the breed they wish to adopt and more importantly, educate the public on the special requirements of large dogs and dogs who have experienced undue stress.
And, last but most important, to ensure that all dogs that come into our program are spayed or neutered before placement unless medical reasons exist that this cannot be done and to assist in seeking low cost spay and neuter options for all dogs.
We take in abandoned and neglected, mistreated and abused, nervous and misunderstood dogs. We are a dog rescue that was inspired by a Rhodesian Ridgeback but we have expanded. We are not breed specific.
If you are contacting us about a dog in immediate danger of being put down, PLEASE call Roy Hughes at 817-454-6023 and/or text phone number and ID number for shelter where dog is being held.
