Shelter From The Storm

We are an all-breed dog and cat rescue in Madison, WI. We also run a low cost spay and neuter clinic, Spay Me! Clinic.

Adoptions are done at PetSmart East every Saturday from 10-2pm.

Shelter from the Storm is a Madison, WI based non-profit, all breed dog and cat rescue that functions to reduce the euthanasia rate of healthy and adoptable animals in the nation's overcrowded humane societies and shelters; to aid communities that do not have access to humane organizations; to educate the public on animal health care matters and animal overpopulation issues; to provide affordable veterinary care and training to all animals to enhance their quality of life; to ultimately, build and operate a full service, sliding scale veterinary hospital.

Shelter From The Storm is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, all-breed dog and cat rescue. We rescue Wisconsin animals, many of whom are deemed untreatable/unadoptable by other shelters. Our veterinary clinic, Spay Me! Clinic, allows us to take on medical cases for which other shelters would not have the resources. Often these animals need expensive treatments for debilitating conditions, but once treated, go on to live normal, healthy lives with the families who adopt them. We often care for animals whose treatments cost well over $500 and who frequently need rehabilitation and recovery medications after major treatments. Our hands-on approach to animal care also allows us to rehabilitate animals with severe behavioral issues, especially ones who are terrified of people. Our shelter, along with our foster homes, provide the animals a place to stay and people to care for them until they are adopted by families that can give them forever homes.
