Zeab was born on April 17, 2010 at Seacrest Wolf Preserve in Florida to be sold to a zoo. He and his sister Farah were not able to find a home so in May Mission: Wolf received a call to take in the two pups. When he arrived at 8 weeks of age we named him Zeab – the Arabic world for wolf. Seacrest donated the siblings to Mission: Wolf with hope that they could join our educational program to help teach people about wolves and how important they are to our environment. We believe they will live full and satisfying lives at the refuge as they fulfill that role.
Zeab and his sister Farah were hand raised by the staff with the help of two wolf-dogs, Leo and Luna. Four weeks after Zeab arrived, Mission: Wolf took in another pup named Apollo. Zeab was elated to have a new pup to play with and chew on. The three pups spent the summer together and inspired many visitors with their playful puppy antics. At the end of summer Zeab and his two siblings met Magpie and Abe, who quickly adopted the three. They had one of the largest enclosures and were able to run through the trees, hide in dens and enjoy attention from many visitors.
Zeab, Farah, Apollo, Magpie, and Abe all lived together until the summer of 2012 when Farah began challenging Magpie and Apollo began challenging Abe. We removed the two of them and gave them their own enclosure. Zeab still lives with Magpie and Abe and continues to be our most popular ambassador. He is a very mellow guy, and very gently greets all visitors to his home.
