We are a Carolina Dog (the BREED, not the location) breed-specific, registered nonprofit rescue group supported by volunteers, donors, and rescue partners that has been around since 2010. We specifically rescue and adopt out possible Carolina Dogs and Carolina Dog mixes with the natural traits & instinctive behaviors that make them exactly who they are, but don't make them good fits for adoptive families or rescue groups expecting a well-socialized, easily trainable, domestic breed of dog, and therefore, place THESE particular dogs at extreme risk of mislabeling & death.

SCD Admins use existing AKC & ARBA breed standards for Carolina Dog type behavior, temperament, physical markers and origins to decide if, based on available information, we believe the majority of those standards exist in the at-risk dog in question. Per Rescue Bylaws, Directors/Admins have full & final discretion regarding all posts of "possible Carolina Dog types" and "possible Carolina Dog mixes," final say in determining which specific dogs will be pulled for foster & eventual home adoption placement under this rescue's umbrella, and final decision in adoption approval.

NO rescue group has the legal or intellectual right to verify "pure" Carolina Dogs. At no time is it decided or declared that any dog in question IS a "pure" Carolina Dog, as no group member has the scientific or legal authority to do so. At no point does any member here have the authority to demand a breed change of any other rescue or shelter's dogs, or the right to represent THIS group in demanding such a change.

Mass shelter/rescue postings, networking of other species or breeds, solicitation of funds, fosters or transporters for other groups, and advertisements will be removed.

Drama, personal attacks & disrespectful arguments are prohibited. If your behavior in this group has to be "policed," you will be removed & banned from the group. Period.
