Jivdaya Charitable Trust

"Jivdaya Charitable Trust" - Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO)

We are committed to providing good animal welfare to suffering un-owned animals and to conserve wildlife through rehabilitation, research, and community awareness.

Jivdaya Charitable Trust (JCT) was established in 2007 and is registered under Bombay Charity Act with registration No. E.18173/Ahmedabad, recognized by Animal Welfare Board of India. JCT provides medical care to un-owned free-roaming animals, and runs a rehabilitation centre for wild birds and bats.

Project 1: Animal Care on Wheels
Ailing animals respond to treatment faster when treatment is given to them without changing their natural habitat. Our three Mobile Clinic Vans give on the spot treatments to ailing un-owned animals in their home ground in Ahmedabad city, India. These vans are also equipped to perform minor surgeries as well as vaccination against rabies. This project has helped and saved over 74,700 animals till date. We believe Improving the welfare of animals in communities benefits both people and animals.

Project 2: Avian Rehabilitation
Every year thousands of birds are injured, displaced, orphaned, and suffer illness due to anthropogenic threats. We rescue, treat, and rehabilitate birds of over 100 species including critically endangered vultures.

Project 3: Rehabilitation of Mega and Micro Bats
Every year in Ahmedabad, over 250 bats of various species suffer injuries, displacement, and become orphan due to several anthropogenic threats like habitat degradation, community intolerance due to false beliefs, harmful festivals, etc. We are working on bat conservation through round the year rehabilitation, and through community engagement.
