Manatee County Animal Services
Animal Services Officers are available Monday through Sunday 8am to 7pm excluding County Holidays.
To maintain public health and safety through the enforcement of laws and ordinances related to animals. To promote responsible pet ownership, promote adoptions, and reduce pet overpopulation.
The primary function of the Animal Services Division is the effective and humane enforcement of the animal ordinance and the protection of public health and safety throughout the incorporated and unincorporated area within Manatee County.
Our responsibilities include the apprehension and impoundment of stray and loose dogs and cats, including the sick and injured, the enforcement of rabies vaccination and licensing of dogs, cats, and ferrets, and the investigation and enforcement of dangerous dogs, animal cruelty and nuisance dogs and cats.
Animal Services works closely with the Humane Society of Manatee County, Bishop Animal Shelter (S.P.C.A.), and many other local animal groups and animal welfare organizations.
