A home& sanctuary for unwanted and unloved German Shepherd Dogs, Bahamian Potcakes, horses, donkeys, goats, and alpacas. We subscribe to a holistic model.

German Shepherd Rescue of Central Florida is an organization of volunteers. We are dedicated to protecting the health, safety and psychological well-being of German Shepherd Dogs and their canine cousins. Celtic Legends Farm, a subset of our rescue, is also an organization of volunteers for farm and exotic animals. All animals are rehabilitated through state-of-the-art veterinarian care, psychological services, high quality food and positive operant conditioning and training, which enhances their overall well-being. This further prepares the dogs and puppies to be great canine citizens and live functionally as inside companion animals in loving forever homes, or with PTSD Survivors as Emotional Support and/or a Therapy Dog.

We consider it our privilege and pleasure to be able to help this noble breed and prey animals. There are only a few breeds that serve mankind as working dogs putting their lives on the line to protect their handlers or partners. Few people seem to understand that only about one percent of all German Shepherd Dogs have the ability to be working dogs for the police and military. German Shepherd Dogs are predators and on our Farm they learn to live in harmony with prey animals. Some are more successful at this than others. All are protected and served by a group of conscientious volunteers.
