What's that? You haven't met our bonded brothers, Felix and Piper yet? You're missing out! These two wonderful boys are four years old, neutered and ready for their new home together! They came into the shelter as an owner surrender due to the owner moving and they are ready to move into their new home before the holidays!

Felix is the brother that has more white and Piper is the darker. They are incredibly sweet boys that entertain themselves playing with one another wrestling. They are playful and both love catnip. They are very loving and will give kisses as well.

Guilford County Animal Services and Greensboro Parks and Recreation are hosting a fun filled, tail waggin' trick-or-treat experience on October 30th, 2021 from 1-4pm at County Park located at 3802 Jaycee Park Dr. Greensboro, NC 27455. We invite everyone to bring their dogs and/or children out for a safe and fun time in a beautiful park setting. All dogs must be leashed at all times, leashes for kids are optional! (hehe.)

We will have stations set up along the main walking trail where costumed children can receive candy and costumed dogs can receive treats! Adults are encouraged to dress up and have fun too! We will be taking photos, with permission, of all costumes for a social media best costume contest on October 31st, so bring out your best costumes!

Well… while Instagram had some issues yesterday, we had a great first day of the BISSELL Pet Foundation’s Empty the Shelters! We want to thank everyone who came out and adopted or helped with the event! We had about 20 animals adopted on the first day!

We are getting prepared to do it again today for day 2 of the national event! Come on out between 12 and 4pm no appointment needed to meet our amazing pets! The whole process takes about an hour up to two hours depending on how many people arrived before you and we operate on a first come first served format.

We were able to get clarification in that we CAN adopt out pets still needing spay/neuter surgery during the event if they will not be going home until after the event is over, so ALL AVAILABLE PETS can now be adopted out during the event with no appointment needed!

Guilford County Animal Services Prepares to Move to New Facility!

In preparation for its move to the new Guilford County Animal Resource Center, at 980 Guilford College Road, the agency will close its 4525 W. Wendover Ave location to the public permanently on October 25th and reopen to the public – at the new facility – on November 1st.

The currently shelter at 4525 W. Wendover Avenue will also be closed to the public on October 10th through October 12th. And again on October 17th through October 19th, to prepare for the move.

GCAS Animal Control will continue to respond to priority calls. They can be reached at 336-641-5990, or 911 after 5:00 pm.

GCAS will host “Empty the Shelters,” a week-long adoption event at its 4525 W. Wendover location on October 4th through October 8th, from 12:00 to 4:00 PM. This is a name-your-price adoption event for dogs and cats.

A ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at the new Guilford County Animal Resource Center, at 980 Guilford College Road, on Friday October 29th. The ceremony starts at 2:00 PM sharp, and tours of the facility will take place until 4:00 PM.

The new facility opens to the public on November 1st.

Coffee is an 8 year old 103lb neutered male Bullmastiff mix. He arrived at the shelter on 10/15/20 as an owner surrender due to his previous owner being unable to keep and care for him any longer. He is a friendly boy here at the shelter and enjoys attention. He is a big ol' goofball, but don't let that fool you... He's not just all looks and silly antics, he's smart too! He already knows sit and shake and will even change paws given for shake if asked. He would do best as the only pet in the home because he loves people so much, he'd like you all to himself! He has yet to not make a BFF out of everyone he meets here at the shelter. Can he be your Best Friend Forever too?

Uni (A014696) is a stunning dark brindle 2 year old female American Bulldog Mix. This gentile and affectionate girl is the perfect size at 40lbs. She loves being out with staff and seeing what you're up to. She likes to follow people in hopes they will toss her a couple more pets and walks very well on a leash. She came into the shelter as a stray, so we unfortunately do not have any background information on her, but she has been wonderful here at the shelter. She really enjoys treats and will work for snacks! This makes her easily trainable! If you're just looking for a sweet pup that enjoys your company, Uni is the girl for you!
