For the love of dogs❤️ on #GivingTuesday…
So much of what we do at Reach Rescue never gets broadcasted across social media. Our network of volunteers work hard every single day to rescue dogs in need. Whether that means finding them being given away on the internet before they get into the wrong hands, spending three hours picking every single flea out of their fur, bandaging the wounds they come in with just for us to never ever know what they went through. Whether it means coaxing them out from behind the couch because they’re so terrified when they arrive, or rushing them to the vet immediately because their condition went so long untreated we truly don’t know if they’ll make it another night, even just getting them used to sleeping on a dog bed, playing with a toy, or trusting a man. So much goes on behind the scenes to get them as ready as possible to thrive in a forever home.
Before they were your dog, they were loved by us. Before they were your dog, they chewed up our kitchen table and peed on our kid’s bed. Before they were your dog, they howled all night when we had to work at 7am and before they were your dog, we believed they could be your dog.
We are just a stepping stone in their journey of life, but without us, they may have never gotten the chance. Every time we feel burnt out, every time we get a foster dog that pushes us to our limit, every time we get threatened, and every time people leave us a bad review because we didn’t communicate fast enough or respond to their application due to lack of manpower...we stick through it, for the love of dogs.
We love rescuing dogs. Once you start, it’s almost impossible to ever stop. All the hard work is worth it when we receive those updates from forever families. However, we can only rescue as many as we can afford to rescue. This #GivingTuesday is more important than ever as we continue to rescue dogs all while building a new rescue facility which in the long run will allow us to rescue even more dogs than we ever have before. Rubilee sure looks good in a hoodie! This little Min Pin gal is playful and sweet. She was used for breeding her whole 3 years of life and can be a little skiddish sometimes, but is overall a great companion pup who can’t wait to experience a life full of love and spoiling. Adoptable Sissy really enjoyed the last Libertyville Farmer’s Market of 2021! So much so it was difficult to sit still in front of all the pumpkins with so many people around that could be petting her and dogs she could be playing with. Who can sit still in conditions like that?! We don’t blame you, Sis. We loved being at the farmer’s market this year- expect to see us back come 2022!
