The mission of the Corinne T. Smith Animal Center is dedicated to promoting the welfare, compassionate care and protection of animals, taking all domestic animals brought to us, finding suitable homes for adoptable animals, providing information, raising public awareness of animal issues, and promoting responsible pet ownership.

We are an open admission shelter located in Brown County, TX. All animals picked up by animal control in Brown County, TX, come to our shelter, and we receive about four to five thousand animals each year. We adopt out mostly cats and dogs, but the occasional goat, horse, rabbit, or chicken ends up at our shelter. Our adoption prices are $150 for dogs and $90 for cats, less if they are already fixed, and that pays for the spay/neuter surgery, first vaccinations, rabies vaccination, microchip, deflea, deworm and heartworm test, saving you several hundred dollars in vet care.
