Good Monday Morning!

My name is Danny and I looking for a new family to call my own! I am a bull dog love bug. I came from a place called Mississippi where I found my way to a shelter looking for help. The staff there loved me so much, I got to go on car rides which I think are so fun and loved snuggle time. I have made it all the way to New York in hopes of a new fresh start. I am a sweet boy, I haven't meet a human or dog I dont like. I`m a young age of 4 and at 49lbs but the humans say I need to add a couple pounds! 104. When we were done welcoming our new friends from Mississippi, 104 souls filled our kennels and overflowed into our office areas, community rooms and hallways.

We had planned for a much smaller transport based on the number of dogs we were already caring for while we wait for the world to start adopting dogs again, but #HurricaneIda blew those plans out of the water.

Natural disasters leave both domestic pets and wildlife displaced in their wake and often leave shelters with no good choices. When our shelters are overflowing already with unwanted pets, mass euthanasia is the unimaginable reality to spare them painful deaths and to make room for the ones that will inevitably come through their doors when the storm has passed. So we filled the truck to get as many out of harm's way as we could.

104 #dogs is a lot to care for, a lot to house and a lot to feed. If you have been planning to add a dog to your family, now is a really good time to do it! If you would consider one of our dogs that have been waiting a while, you can set the adoption fee. Chief, Layla, Milkbone, Gemma, Dulce, Isabella and Netty have waited longer than they should for their new beginning. Our hope is we can make some space in case we are needed to move some more.

If you are not ready to adopt, please consider making a monetary #donation or donating a bag of Nutro, Taste of the Wild, 4Health, Rachel Ray, or Diamond brand kibble or any brand of canned. Don't forget to share the post and help us send them all home.
