Parkland County Animal Shelter

Parkland County Animal Control is committed to responsible pet ownership by reuniting pets with their owners, finding homes for adoptable pets, animal safety, and training.

Parkland County is a rural municipality located immediately west of Edmonton, Alberta. Our Animal Control Shelter is located in the Parkland County Services Building at the north end of Stony Plain, Alberta. Our shelter houses dogs and cars that have been displaced from their homes. Our acceptance of animals is dependent on the bylaws for the municipalities for whom we provide shelter services.

NOTE: Parkland County, with the exception of Parkland Village, does not have a cat bylaw, therefore, we are unable to house any stray cats found in Parkland County. If you have found a stray cat in Parkland Village, please contact us at 780-968-8400.

Please check the Parkland County Animal Control Bylaw and the bylaws for Stony Plain, Spruce Grove, Alberta Beach and Onoway to confirm the laws surrounding impounding of cats or dogs in these areas.
