The Mission of the Council Bluffs Department of Public Health is to improve, protect and promote the health, the environment and the well-being of residents in our community.

Our Vision:
We will respond to public and environmental health issues with innovative solutions. The health of our community is dependent on many factors and we will involve individuals and organizations who will work together toward a vision of shared responsibility for a healthy community.


The dept provides health support to the City of Council Bluffs. This includes: Animal Control, Board of Health, Environmental Health, Public Health Nursing, Solid Waste Management.
