Rescue Pink

Rescue Pink is a 501c3 organization dedicated to helping animals, promoting spay/neutering and changing laws make a difference in the community.

As founder of Rescue Pink,I have been working/partnering/volunteering in the animal community since 2007. I have volunteered with Suncoast Animal League, Pinellas County Animal Services, Pet Pal, and the Humane Society of Pinellas.
I initiated the changing of the anti-tethering law in 2013 and was successful with the help of the League of Humane Voters. The law now states there is NO tethering unless the owner is present.
I started the PCAS Facebook page and ran it by myself for 6 years. I still volunteer at PCAS as well as help the Humane Society of Pinellas with fundraising and I do their media weekly, sending out photos of dogs and cats that need homes to various media outlets in the area.
I decided to start my own rescue and help animals as needed because many people come to me for help when they have no where else to turn. I have fundraised for surgeries of animals where the owners/rescues could not afford it, fostered dogs and took care of numerous litters of foster kittens until they were old enough to be put up for adoption.
I have added two wonderful women as Co-Directors. Sarah Brown Richmond, Director of Manatee County Animal Services and former director of the Humane Society of Pinellas, and Jennifer Rogan, longtime animal community supporter and volunteer.
We want to address the source of the overcrowding and reason so many dogs get euthanized in shelters, overpopulation and irresponsible breeding.
We are partnering with The New Barker, Pet Pal, Operation Snip, SPOT, The Humane Society of Pinellas and others for The Fix Is In initiative. We will raise money and give away spay/neuter to people would not otherwise alter their animals. We hope to continue this along with going to the county commissioners and addressing the lack of breeder laws in Pinellas County. Our first goal would be that ever person breeding has a permit, unlike the current law where you can have one litter a year without a permit. This creates a loophole as it is difficult to prove they sold more than one litter.
These are our goals for 2016.
