Curious cats: rehoming centre & tea room

Curious cats is a non profit rehoming centre and tea room based in Derby cathedral quater.

please read our story for full details on what we stand for.

Curious cats was set up to rescue and re-home unwanted, abandoned and abused cats.
We opened up with a tea room to provide a better experience in cat adoption.
We don't believe in putting any help-able cat to sleep so if they are too ill to be re-homed they will live with us for the remainder of their life.

Curious cats first started out as Lady T's which was a cat cafe.
As lady T's started out it had 12 permanent rescue residents but it soon became evident that we stood for something different compared to other cat cafes and the association between us and other cat cafes needed to go.

The reason Lady T's became curious cats is because our residents are very peculiar and curious as they are all rescue and each have their own little quirks.

Curious cats will still have permanent residents as we don't believe in putting any help-able cat to sleep so if they are too ill to be re-homed they will stay in the care of the trustees.

As Lady T's the shelter rescued and saved 38 cats since opening, we wanted recognition as a charity so Curious cats was born and is held in trust as a 100% non profit organisation (soon to be registered charity hopefully).

We will be focusing more on rescue and re-homing now but we are still a free entry tea rooms as the more people that visit help fund the rescue and socialise our cats.
