When a pet is not adoptable in a shelter, or the shelter has to make room for other pets, we are the ones that give that pet a home.

Jacalin De La Rosa grew up surrounded by animals. At any given time, she had at least three or four dogs in her childhood home - at one point, it even got up to fifteen (ten puppies and five full grown)! And always, there were at least one or two cats. Jacalin often volunteered at her local shelters to provide support for her animals up for adoption in her community. Dogs and cats were important members of Jacalin’s family: loving friends that listened, cared, and supported Jacalin as she grew.

When Jacalin’s mother passed away due to cancer, this big family died with her. Two of the family dogs passed away with cancer, and the family was forced to give away the other two. From that moment on, Jacalin lost the love and companionship of her animal friends. Now, ten years later, Jacalin is working to get that big family back.

Jacalin’s dream with Just Fur Kisses Sanctuary is to provide a forever home for animals who are old, sick, or otherwise unable to live out the entirety of their lives in a traditional shelter. Jacalin hopes to provide a space for senior and ill animals to feel love and comfort in their final days.

Jacalin lost what she loved most, and with her non-profit Just Fur Kisses Sanctuary, she has the chance to find it again and to provide it for the animals her sanctuary will serve.
