Old Friends at Cabin Creek

Old Friends at Cabin Creek is a non-profit organization that seeks to provide racehorses with a dignified retirement.

Old Friends at Cabin Creek Farm: The Bobby Frankel Division is a Thoroughbred retirement farm, owned and operated by JoAnn and Mark Pepper in Greenfield Center, NY - a short drive from the famed Saratoga Race Course. The farm received its first retiree in November 30, 2009 and currently has 15 retired thoroughbreds.

We pride ourselves on providing the public the opportunity to meet these once celebrated athletes and offering the horses a place to live out their lives in a comfortable setting. Our mission is also to raise public attention/awareness to the needs of equines, specifically retired or at-risk Thoroughbreds.

The farm is named in honor of trainer Bobby Frankel, a native New Yorker and long time supporter of Thoroughbred retirement. He died November 16 2009 after a battle with leukemia. After his passing, it was decided that the New York branch would be dedicated in his memory.

Old Friends is a non-profit organization established by Michael Blowen, based out of Georgetown, Kentucky. Cabin Creek is the organization's first satellite facility.

We are a 501(c)(3).
