This is a volunteer managed page, for the purpose of networking adoptable animals that are in the McDowell County, NC animal shelter. The McDowell Shelter is a small, open admission county shelter located in Marion, NC. They do not maintain a website with photos of their animals, so we aim to keep this page updated with the available pets looking for homes at the shelter.
Adoption from the shelter is $65 and includes a vet exam, rabies vaccine, and spay/neuter at a local veterinarian.

9:30am- 3:30pm Monday- Friday
8:00am- 1:00pm Saturday

To help decrease the homeless and unwanted pet population in McDowell County, Please make sure to spay/ neuter your pets!
Keep them up to date on vaccines (especially rabies). Consider microchipping your pet so they can be returned to you if they do get lost, and always keep current tags on your dogs collar at all times.
