Weiss Rescue is a non-profit 501(c)(3) dog rescue organization that saves dogs from Death Row at high-kill Florida shelters and finds them loving homes.

Gena Weiss Rescue is dedicated to reducing the number of dogs that are euthanized in Florida high-kill shelters each and every day. We focus on rescuing and rehabilitating them into loving foster homes until they are adopted into their forever homes.


We know everyone of our rescue dogs very well and can tell you about their personality, whether they are housetrained, if they get along with other dogs, cats and even children. Our dogs are also seen by a veterinarian prior to adoption and are spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested, and current on all routine vaccinations. We will disclose any and all known health and behavioral issues to any potential adopters as our MISSION is to ensure happy dogs in loving, forever homes. We offer a life-time commitment to the dogs we rescue that they will be lovingly cared for. If an adopter of a Gena Weiss Rescue dog ever decides not to keep the dog, we will always take the dog back into our program.

With 4 million animals being euthanized every year in shelters around the country, the numbers of dogs needing our help is endless. All the dogs we rescue are fostered by individuals who keep the dogs in their home until they are adopted. We run on a small group of dedicated rescuers with a huge passion for dogs.
