Jessie was lost and living in a parking lot of a big apartment complex. A resident informed our volunteer that she was a very sweet cat, so we rescued her. We found out that she is microchipped and were able to trace her back to the shelter she was adopted from as a kitten back in 2016. We contacted the shelter and they were not able to locate the adopter. Lucky for Jessie, she is in a great foster home awaiting her forever family.

She is absolutely the friendliest girl. She loves to play with her catnip toys and her hairbrush. She loves to be affectionate with people, including kids. She’s a little hesitant with other animals and therefore introductions should be slow. Jessie is a 5-year-old calico sweet gal.

As you may have heard, our cat adoptions have been really slow. We are at capacity for our office and need more foster homes/adoptions in order to continue to be able to help more animals in need!

Our Tabby Tuesday spotlight today is Tia, a 6-7 month old DSH spayed female. She was trapped and spayed along with her brother Theo when they were 3 months old. For weeks we were hand feeding them to get them used to social interaction and Theo made good progress and has become a playful and friendly cat.

Tia, on the other hand, was more hesitant to trust us. These two now have free roam of the entire office and unfortunately Tia runs from us most of the time we try to interact with her. But this last week we've really noticed her trying to get closer to us when we weren't looking, and taking cues from other cats. Our Vet assistant spent 15 minutes sitting in a quiet room with her and she made huge strides. She felt comfortable eating next to her, showing her belly, playing with toys, and eventually allowed her to give her some scratches. She then followed her around for the rest of the day.

Unfortunately, many of the cats in our office started like Tia and never secured a foster home that would be able to provide them more socialization than we can at our office. Tia is still young and deserves the chance to grow in a foster home or a home of her own. She should go to a home with at least one other cat to show her the ropes.

Meet Hazel! ❤️

This adorable girl is about 3 years old; weighs around 8lbs & is top of her class on the nice list!

She has beautiful tabby cat markings with rust-colored undertones to her fur, especially around her nose & whiskers, making it look like she has applied some bronzer to look extra pretty! She has stunning big eyes, giving her an adorable and perpetually surprised look! & her docked tail makes her look like a little bunny hopping around the house. In addition to being super cute, Hazel is also a total lovebug! She is very friendly, loves people, is great with other cats, & does well with dogs too.

She will affectionately follow you around the house & find a comfy spot nearby to take a nap. She will gently meow and roll over by your feet to grab your attention, & will start purring as soon as you pet her! You’ll often find her patiently waiting for you outside the bathroom door. She’ll adoringly slow blink at you whenever you say “hi” to her, then communicate with you in her cute little meows.

Hazel is very playful; she loves all kinds of toys! The teaser toy brings out the athleticism in her, she clumsily pounces on her spring toys, bunny kicks & wrestles with the plushies, & is hilariously entertaining to watch! She also breaks into her trademark zoomies every now n then. She is energetic but loves taking big naps just as much! After a session of playing and hopping around, she happily settles down by the window to soak up the view outside.

Did we mention she is great with other cats? Hazel took no time in becoming friends with her foster kitty sister. They enjoy keeping an eye on the neighborhood together, watching bird videos on YouTube & chirping at the screen, taking naps, and like to end their day with a game of chase before settling in, to sleep soundly through the night. It would make Hazel really happy to have a cat sibling in her forever home. Also, an adult only home, or a home with older kids will be perfect for her.

She is sure to add a lot of happiness to your life!

Meet Fencie & Blaize

Blaize, 2-3 yrs, Tortoise shell. Blaize Isn't much of a human cuddler but enjoys cuddling with her best friend Fencie. She is very curious and likes to watch her Human caretakers doing office chores like running the copy machine, cleaning the dishes and sweeping the floor. Gets along well with other cats but is also quite independent. Blaize needs a home with another cat and a cat savvy adopter.

Fencie is a really handsome gentle giant but extremely shy. He was dumped at our office when he was about 7-8 months old and is now about 5 years old. He was left in the middle of the night in a box that had a big hole and he was able to get out of the box. We were not able to catch him for months. We do not know what his personality was like in his prior home but we think the time he spent outside on his own trying to survive for such a long time contributed to his fear of people.

Although shy, we believe that in a quiet home he will blossom. He gets along really well with the other office cats and as a matter of fact, they all seek him to cuddle with and groom each other, especially his girlfriend, Blaize. He is a beautiful cat on the inside and out.

Meet Xavier

This 2-3 yr old tabby and his sister were found with their mom when they were dumped at an apartment complex. A Good Samaritan rescued them and brought them to our office.

Growing up on the street caused them to be fearful of people and not socialized. However, Xavier does show promise of becoming a loyal companion. He lets us pet him and we believe that once settled in a quiet home with a patient adopter he will adapt and learn to trust. Shy cats, like Xavier, adjust quicker and find comfort having the companionship of a feline friend.

Please give Xavier a chance, you will not regret it.

Ginsburg 8 months old, from the RBG litter, was rescued from a warehouse, along with his 2 siblings.

We have been working with him but he is still extremely shy and is going to take some time to warm up.

These are not kittens that will do well with kids and will need a quiet and patient home.

Meet Manson!

Male, 5 yrs.
This long hair handsome guy has a story, He was hanging around our office and we fed him for months. We were never able to trap him and finally resorted to a drop trap, The grainy picture you see above is from our security camera late at night, He broke our hearts on this cold night when we could see him peeking in our office window. Once we trapped him, we decided to give him a chance to get use to living inside with us. iIt has taken some time, but now we can hold him and pet him ...on his terms, but he continues to improve, He does well with dogs and most cats, ( but can be selective).
He does have a heart murmur and will require visits to the cardiologist in the future.

This is the sweetest cat you will ever meet. Michael came to us from one of the colonies where he lived with his cat friends, some feral and some friendly. One of the residents trapped some of the cats and dumped them even though she knew we were taking care of them. So, Michael, who was always friendly and happy to see us when we fed them daily, became very nervous and retreated after his friends were removed by this resident. Luckily, she was not able to trap him and so we took him to our office before she trapped any more.

Michael seems a little overwhelmed at our office as it is a new environment with new cats. But he is always so, so sweet with all the humans and ignores the other cats. He does get along with them. We don't know about dogs. He has the saddest face, and who can blame him after what he has been through. He belonged to someone at some point as he is friendly with people. There is not one person that doesn't love him and he is an office favorite.

He's a big boy weighing 13 pounds, but it's all love. He's about 4-6 years old but an old, old soul.

If you are looking for a sweet cat that just wants to chill, be with you, and leave you with the warmest of memories, then Michael is your boy.

Sydney, who has some anger management issues, stays in the office most of the time. During the day, she does explore and slaps whoever she feels needs it the most or not, but still does it anyway. Not a resounding testimonial, but once she loves you, she likes to lay under your arms and cuddle while you type. We love her too and let her do whatever she wants. She's about 4 years old and could use a best friend. If you are looking for a cat that will love you on her own terms and is really pretty, please reach out. She is just misunderstood.
