Who wants to play a game? Currently called Is It Bed Stuffing Or Is It Poop™️ but name might change before official release.

Spoiler alert: It was a little bit of both.

I have NEVER had a dog bed stuffed with brown doo doo balls of stuffing out of the 54 million dogs beds we have gone through. So I walked into this mess. Thought it was poop. Panicked because something was def wrong if all of that poop came out of one dog. Got closer and saw wads of bed stuffing. Laughed. Started snatching stuffing balls super fast because it was the last mess standing between me and my cozy bed.

AND I SNATCHED UP A FISTFUL OF POOP.

BARE HANDED.

I do so much for them and nightmares like this is what I get in return 😐🙄😤😅.

🤠THE SHERIFF🤠

The love of my life is not having a good day 😔. She isn’t hungry and is having trouble walking. I’m pretty sure (hopeful 🥺🥺) she is just showing signs of arthritis. I’m going to permanently put her on glucosamine joint supplements and give her pain meds only until her appetite is back.

Don’t underestimate the difference that glucosamine chews can make for an arthritic pup. I take it for my arthritis so can personally attest to its benefits. But, you know, the human pill form. I’m not a fan of the dog flavor options 😆🤣.

If you have an arthritic pup with achy joints, try glucosamine chews without adding pain medication first (unless they’re not eating or in an unbearable amount of pain; also - I am NOT a veterinarian so ask your vet before doing anything I suggest). Giving a dog daily pain medication is not a good long-term solution because it will eventually cause irreparable kidney and/or liver damage. If glucosamine supplements don’t help with their pain, definitely give them whatever your vet says they need to live their best and most comfortable life. It can take 2-3 weeks to see full effects of glucosamine so don’t give it a few days and think it isn’t working and give up.

We don’t have a favorite brand (but we can if a supplement company wants to sponsor us 😏😺) so shop around for the best deal for the size of your pup. Don’t let lower priced chews trick you - sometimes their dose is 4-5 chews per day for large dogs versus a slightly more expensive bag that has a dose of only 1-2 chews per day. I’ve been got a few times myself 😤. Gotta make yo money work for you!

🗿INDIANA BONES🗿

Indy was found about 10 days ago with a nasty abscess on his neck. We aren’t sure what caused it but we sure are glad it healed so quickly!

Over a week in rescue sure does look good on you, kid 🤩🤩!

I’ve been hitting y’all with a lot of crap stories lately. This isn’t an apology, I think the desperate situation our animals are in needs to be known and have a light shown on it.

But I personally don’t follow ANY animal related pages for my mental health. I truly, from the bottom of my tiny Grinch heart, appreciate how many followers we have who anxiously await updates on our special needs cases, who donate every single time we are in a financial tight spot, who share our posts for the world to see, and who say kind words to remind us that they support us and we are not alone in our fight for the animals 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼.

I don’t always have time to respond, but I do read every comment. Even the hateful ones. I see you. I just choose to ignore you because, like Thumper’s mama always says, “if you can’t say something nice, don’t say nothin’ at all.”

I usually post only once a day because I don’t want to blow up everyone’s news feeds but so many updates I felt the need to share have been sad or upsetting or disheartening. So! In the spirit of helping everyone’s mental health, I’m going to post more happy updates throughout the day. I am most thankful for my incredibly small, tiny, TOIGHT friend group of animal saviors who remind me that I am not alone in my fight to save the world, one animal at a time.

One of those friends happened to be traveling down a dirt road in Pontotoc County and spotted a good looking dog house just sitting beside a light pole. With no houses for miles in either direction, he assumed it was trash and stopped to get it for us.

AND WOULDN’T Y’ALL KNOW IT, THERE WAS A DOG INSIDE IT. WITH HER BOWLS AND A BLANKET. ABSOLUTELY TERRIFIED, COLD, AND ALONE.

SO. Tonight Ima need y’all to be thankful that your family didn’t take you AND your bowls AND your blanket AND your house and leave you miles and miles away so no one could see them abandoning you.

On Thanksgiving, no less!

HERE WE GO!

I’m healed enough that I’m about to put some folks on blast so keep scrolling if you can’t handle me at full volume.

I received a phone call around noon today about a dog hanging out at Piggly Wiggly. I received two heartbreaking pictures around six today of the same dog. I had to spend the day in Jackson getting a check up from my surgeon and guess what. She was STILL THERE AT NINE O’CLOCK WHEN I WENT TO CHECK ON HER TONIGHT. Still sitting on the same rug, still waiting for whoever left her there to come back for her, still hopeful they didn’t REALLY mean to leave her behind - surely they hadn’t realized she wasn’t in the backseat when they drove away and were already on their way back for her.

Guess what, baby. They aren’t coming back.

SO MUCH ABOUT THIS IS NOT OKAY!

Dogs aren’t DISPOSABLE. Dogs are FAMILY. TIL DEATH DO US PART. NO MATTER WHAT.

Put that completely aside and STILL, as a society, we should NOT be able to look at this beautiful soul curled up on a rug in the cold and walk right over her, go inside to quite ironically buy a grocery cart full of food for THANKSGIVING dinner, and then walk right back over her without giving her another thought.

Not your problem, right? What can you do anyways, right? She’ll make her way back home, right? On the SMALL chance she is lost and does have a family missing her, the low tonight is 27! I sure as hell hope to find someone compassionate enough to not let me freeze to death if I ever find myself lost and unable to make it back home.

She trotted right to me and let me scoop her up instantly, kinda like she had been waiting ALL DAMN DAY for someone to do so. Now if I’m anything, I’m fair about my complaining. I do know I am the best dog catcher east of the Mississippi and some people may have tried to catch her and were unsuccessful. Both friends who contacted me did attempt to catch her. Y’all aren’t who this is about. This is about every single person who walked right over her and left her behind and haven’t given her a single thought since.

Tis the season, amiright?

I had to have a minor operation last week so things have been a little quiet on the social media front. We have been as busy as usual behind the scenes, though!

Many new intakes, a leg amputation, an eye removal, you know, our usual saving the world one animal a time business.

I’m still taking it easy and not mentally ready to get back in the full swing of social media but wanted to update y’all and let y’all know we’re still keepin’ on, keepin’ on.

And look at my lil Bootstrap Bill! Someone took my baby puppy and replaced him with a nearly grown dog 😩😭🤩😍. He’s so handsome!

A family of 5 was found abandoned in the Industrial Park in Pontotoc this morning.

The ground underneath them was dry. They spent the entire night out in the cold weather huddled behind that sign.

When will people stop seeing this as an acceptable option for unwanted puppies?

If you recognize these sweet faces, tell the owner to dump out their mother too so I can find her a better life than what she’s currently living.

Gently used with stains is fine! We can’t/don’t reuse blankets with our parvo dogs to be extra cautious so we like to have a good backup supply.
