SICSA Pet Adoption and Wellness Center established a HALO partnership several years ago and this year, we incorporated weekly structured playgroups with select dogs. Together, we are able to provide SICSA valuable insight into a dog's behavior and offer training and behavior information. We have also had several of their dogs housed in our behavior facility for short periods of time so we can provide a thorough behavior and training assessment. Our partnership with Private School Pups began early and has continued to flourish! We share a similar mission, which is to help end the euthanasia of dogs at shelters. Partnerships with shelters and rescues are valuable in our animal welfare community. HALO's mission is to assist with reducing euthanasia in shelters and what better way to make this possible than to work directly with them. Devon Smith, Executive Director of the League for Animal Welfare, "The League for Animal Welfare is so grateful for HALO’s behavioral program. At the League, our goal is to help as many dogs as we can, so that no dog is euthanized in a shelter because there wasn’t enough space. But we meet lots of dogs who need some extra attention, who we know will take a bit more time and training to be ready for their new family. TODAY IS THE DAY! HALO is kicking off #GivingTuesday with a challenge to you - our dog loving community - to raise funds and awareness for our Shelter & Rescue Partner Program (SRPP). What is SRPP? HALO has partnered with several shelters and rescues, and receive referrals on dogs exhibiting behavior issues. Although we offer our services at a heavily reduced rate, funding is often an issue. Dudley doodle needs a foster home! He’s a 10 month old male doodle who recently came to us. He is great with dogs, cats, and children. He is a typical puppy and still has some normal puppy behaviors we are working through. He is house trained and crate trained. He can jump a fence but only to get to his person.
