Meet Jax!

Jax is a 1-year-old Shepherd mix. Even in the stress of the kennels, Jax is the sweetest boy. He craves time with people and would make the ultimate companion. He has been friendly with other dogs and every human he has met, although if another dog picks a fight with him, he is not submissive about it. He came in as a stray, and we are shocked no one ever came to track such a wonderful dog down. He's still young and does need work on not jumping up and minding the leash. He would not be good for a home with cats.

With this pup, the ultimate currency is belly rubs. Tank is a portly little lady blue healer, and while she really just lives for a good tummy scratch, she also loves snuggles of all kinds, and going for walks with her pals, humans and dogs alike. She was born deaf, and has had issues in her previous home living with an aggressive dog who would often startle her, this has led to some ongoing issues with reactivity towards other dogs. Here at the shelter, with proper introductions with other pups, a calm environment, and a controlled situation, she has done great with other dogs. But due to her history we believe she will thrive best in a home with no other dogs. Kali is an extra special dog, in need of extra special care. This fluffy eight-year-old border collie mix is as sweet as they come. Sadly, we have discovered she has a tumor in her bladder. It is too large to remove safely, so she will need to receive anti-inflammatory medication for the rest of her life to keep it at bay as long as possible. She is not in pain and is still loving her life and her time with people. She is currently in foster with an amazing family, but they will not be able to afford the $80-$100 a month it will cost to give Kali the medicine she needs. We are hoping to find a home with the extra resources to care for this amazing pup in her remaining years. Please reach out if you may be this home.
