Life Caring and Animal Rescue Organization Taiwan《 L.C.O 》
Taiwan Life Caring and Animal Rescue Organization (L.C.O) is a non-profit organization which is devoted to animal rescue, blood center, free neutering tour, life education, human care program, and charity store.
L.C.O. aims through positive and active rescue actions to bring benefit and arouse public awareness to stray animal and life-respect issues. Hoping by serving and appealing to the spirit of love, respect, and equality, L.C.O could have more and more opportunities and support to help the needed.
L.C.O. focus its task on stray animal rescue including serious car accident, rubber band tied on the neck, animal abuse, gin trapped and other urgent conditions. The area of operation covers Taiwan and Amoy, Mainland China.
The goal of L.C.O is to raise the awareness of respecting stray animal. After series of rescue missions, L.C.O started to gain public recognition and receive supports (donations to animal ambulance/rescue vehicle) from generous organizations and individuals. In 2009, the L.C.O rescue vehicle was rewarded road rights by the government, and was the first vehicle dedicated to animal in Taiwan.
Under the principle of “life-respecting”, L.C.O recently added the humanity item including helping disadvantaged children and care for the poor and sickness. Moreover, L.C.O has been cooperated with Bureau of National Health Insurance to raise the fund to assist disadvantaged young children to receive basic medical and education rights.
L.C.O is now in a transitional stage for further development in broader aspect and is actively seeking opportunities in experience sharing with other animal welfare groups from both domestic and overseas. Through valuable sharing, L.C.O hopes to bring benefits to stray animal, to further raise the animal welfare standard in Taiwan.
