The Friends of The North Smithfield Animal Shelter is non profit organization working in the North Smithfield Animal Control Center.

Friends of The North Smithfield Animal Shelter is a volunteer only run organization. Although the Town of North Smithfield has one full time paid animal control officer, fund raisers, adoption events and other various events are run collectively by people willing to donate their time and services! We are so thankful for all of them! If you would like to become a volunteer, you must be at least 18 years of age. Please call the Animal Shelter, or drop by to fill out a volunteer application. All cats available for adoption are Feline Leukemia / Feline Aids tested, vaccinated and spayed/neutered (if old enough) before adoption. All of our dogs available for adoption are Heartworm and Lyme tested, vaccinated and spayed/neutered (if old enough) before adoption. We even have small animals and birds for adoption from time to time!
