HOWDY had to go back to Texas A&M Small Animal Hospital today unexpectedly! His incision started to drain fluid, a sign that an infection was developing post orthopedic surgery to repair his broken leg. He was sedated and his wounds cleaned and new x-rays taken. He was placed on several strong antibiotics, and a culture has been sent out to make sure he is on the right type of medication. Howdy is back at his foster home tonight and in good spirits. We just hope and pray his infection clears up before complications develop. Hang in there sweet Howdy! ❤ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Kip arrived safe and sound to PA around noon today! His new parents picked him up, and immediately texted "LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT!" Kip is now on his drive to his new home to meet his K9 siblings! We are beaming with excitement! This miraculous survivor is going to have his BEST LIFE ever from this point forward! ❤ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

After 8 long months of recovery, Kip is finally healthy and on his way to his new home in the NE! We cried happy tears as we loaded Kip on the early morning transport van, gave him one last hug, and wished him well as he heads to his wonderful new family! Kip will be living on a beautiful horse farm with his new mom & dad and three K9 siblings!

Eight months ago it was doubtful that Kip would live. The distemper virus had ravaged his body. He was totally paralyzed. All he could do was blink his eyes and silently plead for us to help him. Kip never gave up and neither did we! He can now walk, run, eat, drink and play like a normal dog! His recovery from near death is proof that miracles do happen!

Godspeed sweet Kip! Just one more day and you will begin living your BEST LIFE ever! We cannot wait to see Happy Tail pictures! ❤

This happy tail is very special, as Twilight (R) was not expected to live when we first rescued her. She was found totally paralyzed with labored breathing. We rushed her to the ER and then a neurologist where she had emergency spinal surgery.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It was not known if Twilight would ever be able to walk again. The neurologist said it could take months. But this little gal was determined! She handled physical therapy like a champ, and made improvements day by day under the care of her foster parents! It's now been 6 months, and she runs and plays like all pups do!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

We are so pleased to announce that Twilight's foster parents are also her forever parents! Her sibling is RCR alum Liesel (nka Wanda) who also required major surgery and recovery! These are two lucky gals! They both survived the odds and are living their BEST LIFE ever! ❤⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

RCR Alums Mariah & Carey (L) and their parents stopped by our Saturday adoption event to say Hi! Mariah & Carey are best friends who were dumped at the shelter by their prior family when we rescued them. We were so fortunate to find them a loving home where they could stay together!

Introducing RCR's newest family members...ROBIN, WREN, and LARK!
These 3 sisters found themselves homeless, and ended up at the shelter with a bad case of demodex. Due to their skin condition, they were not adoptable, and with the shelters overcrowded, their lives were in danger! But not to worry, the girls are now safely in our care and getting better every day!

They are estimated to be about 6 months old and 20 lbs. Super cute and they love to play, as all puppies do! These 3 sweet girls are currently boarding at the vet clinic due to lack of foster homes. They do not have to stay together, but we would like them to go to a home with another dog. Email us at info@redcollar.org to learn more about fostering or adopting one of these cuties!
