Social media provides a tremendous resource for animal welfare advocates. Increased visibility for adoptions, fosters, and rescues leads to more successful outcomes, and the efforts of our supporters and volunteers on each animal's behalf is a large part of every "happy tail" that is facilitated via social media. We need - and appreciate - your help!

In the interest of preserving the very best results of our efforts online, HSMC has instituted the following guidelines regarding activity on our Facebook Page:

1. We are always available to answer questions about our services, programs, or the animals in our care. Remember, that we are all volunteers so please be patient. 2. This is a page, in part, to share urgent and adoptable animals that are located in the Marlboro County Animal Shelter which is a separate entity than HSMC. Its goal is to facilitate placement for animals in immediate need. By participating on this page you are agreeing to its commenting policy, outlined below:

We reserve the right to delete posts on this page containing any of the following:

- profanity
- misinformation
- spam / advertising
- naming & shaming
- off-topic / irrelevant
- personal attacks
- promoting violence
- promoting illegal or questionable activities
- compromising the privacy of clients, staff, volunteers, or animals

If you violate this policy you will be removed from the page, likely without warning.

If you become a bother to the people using this page you will be similarly removed.

We welcome and encourage your help in placing these animals, but choose not to tolerate behavior that obstructs the process.

To further clarify, here are some specific behaviors that will likely result in removal:

1. Spamming multiple threads with inflammatory comments;
2. Spamming multiple threads with images/memes;
3. Spamming multiple threads with off-topic, unhelpful, or intolerant comments;
4. Attacks, curses, speculative statements.
5. Linking to unsecure or inappropriate external websites

Additionally: All of the animals on this page are urgent. They wouldn't be here if they weren't. Every one of them is in a heartbreaking situation. HSMC doesn't set their deadlines, take their initial pictures, or stand in judgement of their keepers.

This page exists solely to help find homes for each posted animal. Please help us make that happen by keeping your comments focused on that task.
