Humane Society of York County
Humane Society of York County is a no-kill 501(c)(3) rescue dedicated to humane treatment and adoption of homeless pets, and reducing pet overpopulation.
Our mission is to prevent animal suffering, to help reduce overpopulation by promoting spaying and neutering, to educate the public about animal welfare, and to place adoptable animals in loving homes. We advocate for animal rights legislation, and support the prosecution of animal abusers.
The Humane Society of York County (HSYC) is an independent local non-profit organization dedicated to the humane treatment of animals. We are a qualified 501(c)(3) non-profit organization located in Fort Mill, South Carolina, and serve the greater Charlotte region including York, Lancaster and Mecklenburg counties.
Donations are tax deductible to the full extent of the law, and 100% of your donation remains with the HSYC to benefit the pets in our care.
Our Mission:

To ensure cats and dogs are treated in a humane manner, are rescued, and are placed in loving and forever homes by:
- Increasing dog and cat rescues and adoptions
- Empowering the environment so pet owners are responsible and accountable for their actions
- Supporting spay and neuter programs for community dogs and cats
- Providing a Helping Hands Program to assist with critical treatment for dogs and cats in need
