Dogs of Del Norte County

We are the friends of the Del Norte County Animal Control. Our goal is to network the dogs at this shelter in hopes of finding them forever homes!

Our goal is to bring awareness to our highly adoptable dogs and to help find them wonderful homes. We also would like to educate our community on the importance of spaying and neutering and responsible dog ownership.

Del Norte County Animal Control is open Monday - Friday from 8am to 5pm for adoptions. The shelter is located at 2650 Washington Blvd, Crescent City, CA 95531.

Crescent City is a small coastal town with a rural population of 7,500 on the Oregon/California border.

This small county ran dog shelter has VERY low foot traffic. It has 25 small indoor only 3x6 kennel runs, not ideal hours for viewing the adoptable dogs and a very low adoption rate due to these big factors. The pit bull type dogs will linger in this shelter for months, some even, years!! Please help us find rescues or adopters for these amazing companions!

Adoption fees range from $12-$100, depending on if the dog has been previously altered and if you are adopting in state or out of state.
