the cats at the grand strand humane society

Grand Strand Humane Society located in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina was chartered in 1972. Our goals are to seek responsible owners for unwanted and abandoned animals; to investigate and attempt to prevent or stop the horrible cruelty practiced against, not only dogs and cats, but against all animals; to feed, provide medical care and well-being to the animals placed in our shelter; and to educate the public about the responsibility of pet ownership, not only as it applies to their pets, but to the community as a whole. Our Claire Chapin Cook Veterinary Hospital & Walk-In Clinic offers preventative care at affordable fees in hopes all animals receive medical care and remain with their family. This care includes vaccines, spay & neuter surgeries, teeth cleaning, heartworm testing and treatment, aids and leukemia testing for cats and other medical services at discounted prices.

The ultimate goal of the Grand Strand Humane Society is to achieve a 100% adoption rate with every adoptable animal we care for being placed in a permanent loving home. We will continue to work hard and strive for this goal because we believe every animal deserves a chance at a long and fulfilling life with a loving family. We also plan to further our spay/neutering education program within the community. It is our belief that the more we can educate residents about proper spay/neutering procedures, the better we will be able to control the animal population, thereby resulting in a decrease in homeless and abandoned animals.

Please visit our shelter and adopt a new family member and please share information on our hospital and clinic with your friends and family.
