Second Chance Animal Rescue of Puerto Rico
Founded in 2000, SCAR is a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and securing homes for the homeless dogs of Puerto Rico.
Second Chance Animal Rescue (SCAR) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established in February of 2000 by Bonnie Lukas in Villalba, Puerto Rico. SCAR rescues, rehabilitates, and secures permanent homes for abandoned dogs in Puerto Rico. Since its founding, SCAR has rescued over 30,000 animals in Puerto Rico
Second Chance provides each rescue with food, shelter, medical care, and love! SCAR's goal is to place each rescue into a loving home. However, due to extreme suffering on the streets, some rescues live out their lives as a part of our sanctuary family.
