Friends of League City Animal Shelter is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization whose purpose is to provide volunteer assistance & funding (for vaccs, meds, supplies) to the League City Animal Shelter & local Shelters, to support the humane care of animals.

increase the number of adoptions to qualified homes, to recruit and train additional foster home caregivers for animals pending adoption, to promote the spaying and neutering of animals, and to provide volunteer assistance and funding (for vaccinations, medicines, food and supplies) to the League City Animal Shelter and other local Shelters, to support the humane care and treatment of animals.

5 MILLION dogs and cats are euthanized every year nationwide - because there is no way for all of them to have a home

Two cats+ 7 Yrs = 420,000 kittens.
Two dogs + 6 Yrs = 67,000 puppies

About 10,000 people are born
About 70,000 dogs & cats are born
For all the cats and dogs to have a loving home
EVERY person would have to own 5 animals
A family of 5 would own 25 cats and dogs

8-10 million animals enter shelters every year
25% of them are Purebred Animals
3-5 million are adopted
