The mission of the Morgan County Animal Control is to balance the health, safety and welfare needs of the people and animals in our county. Through our mission, we will educate residents about responsible companion animal ownership, aggressively investigate animal cruelty cases, provide compassion and humane care for unwanted, stray, abused, and abandoned animals in our county. We will give all adoptable animals a second chance at a forever home and humanely euthanize animals when deemed necessary and appropriate.


Responds to calls relating to wild or domestic animals that may be sick, injured, or considered dangerous or a nuisance, providing transportation to our local veterinarian for care and disposition as necessary. The department enforces all ordinances according to City, County and State laws respectively.
Morgan County employs one part-time Animal Control Officer whom is National Animal Control Association (NACA) trained and a Certified Veterinary Techinican (C.V.T)
ACO Harrington is also Nationally Certified in Bite Stick, Dangerous Dog, and OC Spray.
