Humane Society of Chittenden County
To foster the compassionate treatment of animals and prevent animal suffering.
The Humane Society of Chittenden County was founded in 1901 and serves Chittenden and Grand Isle Counties. Each year, we welcome approximately 900 animals and as many as 15,000 people to our 12,000 square foot facility in South Burlington.
Our mission is to foster the compassionate treatment of animals and to prevent animal suffering through humane education, trap-neuter-returns (TNRs) of feral cat colonies, cruelty investigation and intervention, spay/neuter programs, sheltering, and adoption services.
